All in all an amazing trip of contrasting scenery. On to Portland to drop off our daughter then on to Seattle KOA for our last night ($55). Next day was our first rainy day but we still enjoyed walking the Trail of Ten Falls in the morning. Our next day we drove to Bend and had a wander through town then had a spectacular drive to Silver Falls State Park ($25 no hook up).
$45 per night ($15pp just for a swim so good value to camp). Beautiful spot and pretty much empty at this time of year. We stayed there for 2 nights to enjoy the hot thermal pools and did a 2.5hr hike up the hill.
In the morning we drove into Cottonwood Canyon State Park (this is lovely, would have been a great place to stay) then on to the Painted Hills (amazing) and then on to Kah-Nee-Tah (arriving late again).

Next day we headed south back into Oregon, stopping that night at a free rest area along the Columbia River. Still cold at night but not freezing, beautiful sunny days. This is a beautiful campground, spectacular scenery. Got the last site as it was the start of hunting season. Next day we drove over the mountains and into the desert, visiting Gingko Petrified forest and the beautiful Wild Horses Monument, on to Palouse Falls where we had planned to camp but no RV's allowed, so we continued on to Lyons Ferry Marina. It was freezing cold but very pretty for a walk in the morning ($25 for no hook-up and $5 for waste dump). We headed out through the Snoqualmie Pass in slow traffic and made it to Lake Easton state park, arriving in the dark. So here is what we ended up doing: By the time we left Seattle traffic was getting heavy. The Columbia Gorge was completely closed after bushfires, and most of the parks in Idaho and Montana already had snow and were closed. Ranier National Park to Sandpoint, Idahoģ) Drive to Glacier National Park - as you know, check weather conditionsĤ) Glacier National Park to Coeur d'Alene Idaho - Nice Lakeĥ) Drive the Columbia River Gorge (year round waterfalls, Columbia River, other points of interest)ĭrive to Portland and then back to Seattle.ģ) Columbia River Gorge to Crater Lake National ParkĤ) Crater Lake to Brookings, Oregon and camp in California in the Redwoods area - Jedidiah Smith State Parkĥ) Drive up the Oregon coast possibly camping for a night at Florence at the State ParkĦ) Drive and stay at another state park along the Oregon Coast such as Ecola State Park We didn't have any issues but it probably didn't get below 0 degrees for us at night.2) Mt. Definitely needed longer than a week! The RV wasn't winterized and we would have had to pay to get it done.
